Blazer and shorts set by Inspire In collaboration with Santosh Chantyal MUA Sunii Magar To me a power suit speaks in volume about women empowerment and asserts so much of self-confidence and power. For someone who knows it well, clothes are not just clothes it is how you express yourself. Whether you choose to dress up or dress down, it is an expression of your personality and who you are as a person. Going down the lane to where it all started, the first women suit was seen in the 1920s when the iconic Chanel tweed suit was born, designed by Coco Chanel. However, it was the French designer Marcel Rochas who started the women’s pantsuit in the 1930s. Later iconic actress Katherine Hepburn was the one who made the power suit popular in the 1940’s. Then, it had a revival in the 1960’s when Jackie Kennedy wore a watermelon pink suit during the historic assassination of her husband. Also, during that time designer Yves Saint Laurent introduced the menswear inspired Le smoking suit for women. It was in the 1980s power suit become more prominent when it made bigger impact in the way women dressed in the workplace demanding for equality and more female representation in the decision-making. Margaret Thatcher was one such female politician who embraced the power suit and led its popularity during her time as a female minister in the uk. Similarly, in recent years another such female politician Hilary Clinton wore pantsuit throughout her presidential campaign. In 2018, the power suit has re-emerged and since the last few years, its popularity is soaring. More designers are injecting power suits in their collections and in my view as a designer, it is a manifestation of that bold cultural movement where demand for female and minority representation is surfacing around the world right now. As they say, “these movements are not only impacting what is designed but how women choose to dress.” About the outfit, I am wearing bubblegum pink linen blazer paired with a shorts underneath from my own clothing line Inspire. I paired it with heels from Zara. This post was a collaboration with Chardonnay and photographer Santosh Channtyal. I had a really good time shooting for this one. – TYPES OF WOMEN’S SUIT AND HOW TO WEAR IT – Love & Luck XOXO

Collaboration w/ Santosh Chhantyal Photography Full Outfit- Antee Gurung.co Bag- Chardonnay Fashion House Pumps: Zara Basic MUA : Sunii Magar Dear readers, Midnight Blue is one of my favorite colors. It reminds me of a midnight sky full of stars, which adds mystery and depth to it. I have always wanted to design something with this color for myself. During one of my fabric search, I found a perfect summer fabric with a unique floral pattern in midnight blue. So I made a summer suit and to fit with the seasonal mood I used a very light materials and lining to go with it. The cute little bag which I am carrying is provided by Chardonnay House in Lazimpath. For this blog post, I collaborated with the talented street style photographer Santosh Chhantyal. Santosh has been covering various street styles of Nepalese fashionistas and his work is one of the best in this field. Also, my makeup was done by a young makeup artist Sunni. She has been doing this for the past three years and I loved the way she personalized my make up based on my facial feature. I felt like a completely different person as I don’t do much makeup on a daily basis. But it did feel good for a change. The photos were taken at dusk, which wasn’t planned but I still love the way the backdrop looks in contrast to the outfit. I am keeping this blog post very short for now, but I do have more to share, which I will cover in my next post. Love & Luck A

Top & Skirt: D S Collection | Shoes: Lane 88 | Accessories: Forever 21 Pictures by Meiilan Lama Dear readers,Dreamy but specially in this monsoon, I wish it was spring all day everyday.I love what Leo Tolstoy once wrote in Anna Karenina, “Spring is the time of plans and projects.” I just feel so good when I think of spring. I think it brings one of the best modes in me. After all, who doesn’t love such feel right? Lately, I have been taking a lot of inspirations from spring, the season of awakening, new hopes and a new life. That is exactly how I feel at the moment as my clothing line Inspire’s new collection will be showcasing for the very first time overseas. My new evening wear collection will be showcasing tomorrow Monday night at Runway 4 in Hong Kong. Unfortunately I am unable to attend the show as the visa office has been shut down so none of the designers and showstoppers are able to make it. However our designs will be showcased there at one of the biggest runaway and I can hardly contain my excitement. We do hope to make it for the next season though. I have worked really hard in a limited time frame to bring this collection, and the inspiration behind this collection I have to say has been the spring floral texture and colours. The designs will all be published in my website and I cannot wait for you all to see it. -Outfit Closure- For this post, I am wearing a yellow skirt with a delicate white top paired with pink sandals. I associate the color pastel with spring, although there was a time when I used to wear this color even in winter. But, I just love this colour.

Dress: DS Collection | Shoes: Lane 88 | Shades: Dior Venue: Hotel Harmika Pictures by Synematico Dear readers, A few weeks ago I was a part of a very special event, Bloggers Bazaar. It is an event that happens a lot in other countries but in Nepal this was the first time. A lot of my blogger friends writing on fashion and lifestyle from Kathmandu collaborated to organize this event. The concept of Bloggers Bazaar is to allow the bloggers and fashion enthusiasts to set up stalls and to promote their clothing and accessories at a very affordable price. The response on the day was really good and people visiting the event enjoyed the vibrant ambience and services provided by Hotel Harmika situated in Boudha. The photo of the event was covered by a new start up company called Synematico based in Kathmandu. It happens to be my best friend’s new venture. You can find them on Instagram and Facebook. You can find really cool creative stuffs in their social networking sites and are mainly available for advertisement works. You can visit them at www.synematico.com if you need any of their services. Also I did a little collab with Gokul Shrestha from “Closet of words”. You can find few pictures of me and him. His blog is really good filled with classic style mixed with modern day trends. “Outfit Closure” On the day I wore a white off-shoulder dress that was bought very last minute. Like any good thing it was found by chance during one of my visits to Durbar Marg. I instantly loved the layers that the dress has and the soft feeling of it. The shoes, that I am wearing is an oxblood strappy heels that was bought last year but since I am not much of a stilettoes person I wore it for the first time. It went perfectly with the simple silhouette and the color of the dress. As for the accessories I wasn’t wearing any in particular but my old Dior shades goes everywhere with me. Blogger’s Bazaar was a really upbeat event and it was a success. There may be more cool events coming up from us, NFB (Nepal Fashion Bloggers), so stay tuned. Love & Luck A

Dress: Express | Shoes: Zara Basics | Choker: Forever 21 Gold ring: Shree Om Jewellers Picture: Meiilan Lama | MUA : Sanu Gurung Dear readers, Just recently for this post I went out with my photographer, Meiilan to search for a new location. After a few look around, not very far away from my neighbourhood we found an awesome landscape. My initial reaction to this dry landscape was a bit uncertain as it was an unfamiliar territory, but the outcome was spectacular. I am not too sure if it’s a desirable trait or not to be this way but I can never be overly confident, even when I have done full preparation and the groundwork. Although I admit that being this way has worked to my favour all these times. I keep an attitude that I have much to learn, experience and many things to explore. As someone said it, “Impossible isn’t something that can’t be done – it’s just something that hasn’t been done before.” So, what I have learnt so far is the fact that there will always be unfamiliar territories in life and what counts the most is to have a conviction to go forward. -Outfit Closure- The location as I mentioned before was only a few minutes of walk from my neighbourhood. The backdrop was interesting because of the contrast that made the dress I was wearing pop out beautifully. It was my photographer’s idea to shoot there and I trusted in his landscape selection. The dress I am wearing is from fashion star by Express and it has laces with nude inner lining. The fit and design of the dress gives the outfit a very feminine look. The shoes, a Zara purchase is special and I usually wear them out for functions and parties only. During my work days though, you will see me mostly in flats, sneakers or wedges – no stilettos! The accessories I am wearing for this outfit is my new choker from forever 21 and I love it. I also like my new investment the gold ring which has a very minimal and modern design. That’s all for now. Stay tunedLove and Luck

Dress: BIBA(D.I.Y )| Bag:Lane 88 |Slippers: Saint G Shoes Picture by Meiilan Lama Dear readers, I have been blogging for the last five years and back then when I started I had no idea that it would grow so much. At that time I just wanted to put my creative energy and passion into an open forum where I could connect with other bloggers with similar interest. I am grateful that I have come across so many amazing people through blogspot and a part of me didn’t want to part away from the site and move to a new domain but life is about evolving. As someone said, “From the end springs new beginnings.” So, this is my beginning: my new website www.anteegurung.co. It will be a forum where you, my dear readers can travel with me and get a glimpse of my life as a blogger and as a fashion designer. I have worked very hard with the web designer to create this site. I wanted to keep it real to my sense of style yet be simple enough for the readers to navigate. This will be the platform where I will be sharing bits and pieces of my work, my hopes and my aspirations. Outfit Closure For this blog post our team went to a wheat field, within the city to shoot. The dress is a DIY with some modifications. It is a beautifully printed dress but with a length that wasn’t very satisfactory. It was neither short enough to wear as a top nor quite long to be a dress. So I had to be put my creative hat on to add some pleats at the bottom and walla – it was a dress. The footwear is by Saint G shoes, a custom Italian handmade shoes. I discovered this shoes very randomly and I love how comfortable and durable it is. I love the details of orange beads in it and they are my new favourite. The bag I am carrying is from one of my favourite shop in the city called Lane 88. I loved it the moment I saw it – the color is just too unique. My makeup was done by the wonderful Sanu Gurung and the photos taken by the amazing Meilan Lama. I had a fabulous time working with Milan. You can follow him on Facebook and instagram Now I will leave you all to enjoy the pictures. We worked really hard to come up with this spread. I hope you all will visit this site more often and I will try my best to share as much of my knowledge on fashion things. It’s a bye for now but stay tuned There’s More 2 My Style Diary. Photography by Santosh Chantyal Dear readers, So here is a glimpse of a shoot I did with street style photographer Santosh Channtyal. I was wearing a sheath dress with amazing abstract prints and the clutch is my personal favorite. Actually, there’s a funny encounter I would like to share with you guys. I was actually shopping randomly one day and I saw this beautiful purse. It was very minimal and pretty. It had this golden side exterior and woollen fabric wrapped on its body. I instantly fell in love with it. I am always looking for unique accessories to add to my collection and I felt like it went perfectly well with my wardrobe. But to my surprise it was defected as its lock was broken and it wouldn’t close. Without any hesitation, I bought it anyways because I could not let go of it. I know this is a materialistic item we are talking about here. But in life as well, we fall in love with imperfections so easily. I think there is so much of expressions and vitality hidden in every imperfect moments, things and people. Sometimes there’s beauty in defects and perfections in their imperfections. Life is beautiful just like that. From a purse to life quotes… I might have gone too far. Maybe its time for me to sign off but there’s more 2 My Style Diary Stay tuned. Love & Luck -A-
